Astrology in the West has an ancient pedigree, having its roots deep in 4th Millennium BC Mesopotamia and earlier. Until less than a hundred years ago, when the work of psychologists Freud and C.G. Jung and others helped make us aware of our inner lives, astrology was largely divinatory or political in its nature. Now, it is more often practised through the lens of these psychological insights and theories, and applied to individuals as a tool for self-knowing.

At the end of January I was part of a team that opened the Wellington Astrology Centre in the busy and eclectic Cuba area of the city.
